The young fellow above is about to become a new Dad. And I suspect that means that I will soon become a Grand Pa.
Shocking to think of it. One the one hand there is a huge fantastic WOW!! Congrats!! All my love to the 3 of you!! form of joyous response. There follows a period of reflection, a working back through memory. A reliving of the past.

Yesterday I hiked in to see Dr. D. Was up at 0400 and immediately began final trip prep. Left the house early in an unsuccessful attempt to beat the forecast rain showers. About a foot of wet snow had fallen overnight and extra time would be required to compensate for the drudgery of getting through unploughed sidewalks and diverting around the pedestrian shortcuts which were likely to be impassable.

By linking local forest trails, I have created a one mile loop called the Racetrack. An alternate set of trails provides a three mile loop. These measured tracks allow dialing in an exact number of exercise miles in a walk therapy session.
