Today

The crowd swirls around me, a kaleidoscope of people, all of them in motion, the space filled with sounds of chatter and movement. In the midst of this bustle and hubbub a man stands up above the rest and yells out “Who wants a job?” I strive to push through the crush of people, make myself noticed, make myself heard. “I do!” I shout in reply.

I wake up, still mouthing the words of my response.
