I recognize the prior post as an excellent example of Blog Therapy. When I encounter psychological difficulty, I write a blog post. The blog is my Linus blanket.
I use the blog as a way to understand my changed world. It allows me to explore events, to explain them, anchor them, and place them within a cognitive framework that encompasses all the injury after effects. The blog is less a narrative and more a set of minor diagnostic routines applied each time my world bends out of shape, or when I fail to conform.
September End of Month Review
This has been a very up and down month. A key positive factor is that events which would previously have triggered a major depressive event did not have this effect. Either I am better able to manage depressive triggers, or there has been some degree of stabilization in brain neurotransmitters that have resulted in this positive outcome. Walking an average of 9 miles a day likely helped.
In the recent past, I have experienced a number of difficulties. I am grappling with these obstacles and attempting to understand and characterize them. I see Dr. H on Monday and one item on my To Do list is the documentation of the difficulties in the recent past so that I may discuss these with her.
