When walking I have recurring pop-up thoughts. These come out of nowhere, and frequently appear unrelated to any current activity. They are like floating bottles with messages in them. They just happen to be floating on the surface of my thoughts.

Data Points
Whenever I encounter a moment of crisis I go and work at my volunteer “job.” I am willing to perform the very tedious, boring, routine operations that no one else truly wants to do. Another staffer commented on my output. I responded that I really enjoyed endless, dull repetitive work. I saw from his eye response that this may not have been the socially appropriate answer. I appear to be doing a great many socially inappropriate things lately. This is one of the reasons I seek refuge in my “office,” slaving away at a mountain of paper.

Parachute Up
A friend gave me pedestrian advice. She was very animated as she explained that multiple studies have repeatedly found that, of all forms of medical intervention, one of the most effective is walking. In prior months, my average distance walked per day was in the range of 5 to 6 miles. My average for September sits at 2.56 miles per day, roughly half of the prior daily average. I have been goofing off.
