Just realized that in the context of the blog I have never given an overview of events. Up until the present moment the blog has consisted of a series of Foxhole Views. There has been no overarching presentation of what I am engaged in doing, or why i am doing it.

Nightmare
Sunday night I woke around 3 am due to a nightmare. I do not remember the actual dream content. After waking, I found myself focused on the the night of the accident and the fact that any amount of delay, or change in event timing, and the accident likely would not have occurred. If I had delayed in finishing breakfast. If I had been slow to put on my winter boots. If I had decided to go upstairs one last time. If I had fumbled with the exterior lock and dropped my keys in the snow. If I had let the car warm for another 30 seconds before departing. If the woman at the corner had not started the walk signal.

Gargantua
Gargantua is a company that learns from its mistakes. When it fired the one hundred person US support group, it almost immediately faced the embarrassment of trying to rehire them. The foreign replacement workforce was not up to snuff. Gargantua scrambled to fix this problem by recalling the freshly terminated workers. Further embarrassment came when half of the fired workers refused the offer to return. When it was time for Gargantua to get rid of us, the company wanted to avoid making the same mistake twice in row.
